Bible Verse: “Now I know that there is no God in all the world except in Israel.” 2 Kings 5:15, NIV

Scripture Reading: 2 Kings 5:1-19

I will be the first person to say I don’t always know how God works through difficult circumstances in life, but I will also be the first person to tell you God can reveal himself through your circumstances.

Whether it’s in the middle of the storm or looking back in hindsight, God can use the hardest moments of our lives to reveal himself to us. The truth is, many people seek God and come close to him when life falls apart. There’s a man in the Bible who saw God through this same circumstance. This man named Naaman lived in Aram and was the commander of the army. Since he lived in Aram, culturally, he would worship the local god of that time name Rimmon.

Another fact about Naaman was he had leprosy, which is a horrible and painful life-altering disease. Through a series of events, Naaman found himself heading to Israel to seek God through a prophet named Elisha. Through healing Namaan of his leprosy in the river, God revealed himself to Naaman – that he isn’t just the local god of Israel, but he is the God of the whole world.

In the midst of Naaman’s tough circumstance, God was still able to reveal himself through his work and presence in Naaman’s life. I truly believe God can and will reveal himself to you through your tough circumstances in life – whether it’s the one you are going through right now or something you went through in the past.

I have confidence in this because I know many men, including myself, who received a new revelation and understanding of who God is through these tough circumstances in their life.
