The Story

During his last year of high school, Mike gave his life to Christ on a mission trip in what was considered the most dangerous city in the world at that time. Years before that decision, his parent broke up, and he was kicked out of his house when he was 14. He spent years walking the broad road until he was invited to a church event which is deeply connected to everything he does today in ministry.

Over the years, Mike has done everything from skydiving in Dubai, surfing in California, stand-up comedy at Yuks Yuks, mountain climbing in China, celebrating with the Stanley Cup, white water rafting in the Central American jungles, climbing the Monty Python Castle in Scotland, getting baptized in Israel, snorkelling the ocean and being selected for Fear Factor Live in the US….Up next, running with the bulls?

The Speaker

Theology and comedy is the best way to describe Mike’s speaking style. With almost 3000 speaking engagements, Mike has become one of the most booked speakers in North America. As an ordained pastor, Mike studied business, has his degree in theology, worked towards his Masters and he just finished the Executive Stream with Arrow Leadership which is one of the most respected Christian leadership programs in the world – And also contributes to a doctorate. With his life experience and education, Mike commonly finds himself teaching at churches on Sunday morning, conferences, camps, music festivals, Bible Colleges, TV, or training for leaders. Mike is motivated by his love for Jesus, and his love for people as he uses his education, dynamic speaking experience and storytelling humour to connect with everyone on and off the stage.

Over the years he has had the opportunity to team up with speakers such as Nick Vujicic, Francis Chan, Chad Veach, Jefferson Bethke, Tony Campolo, Eric Samuel Timm, Shane Claiborne, Reggie Dabbs, Bob Lenz, Chap Clark, Duffy Robbins, Mark DeVries, Mike Foster, and comedian John Crist.

On top of that, Mike has teamed up with Skillet, TobyMac, Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Switchfoot, Newsboys, For King and Country, Casting Crowns, Hillsong, MercyMe, Tenth Avenue North, Lecrae, Kari Jobe, Relient K, Mac Powell (Third Day), Bethel Music, Rend Collective, Peter Furler (Newsboys), Matthew West, Rebecca St. James, Lacey Sturm (Flyleaf), Brit Nicole, Jars of Clay, Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, Martin Smith (Delirious), Danny Gokey, Jordan Feliz, Pat Barrett (Housefires), Phil Keaggy, and counting.

The Emcee

Using his speaking experience on stage, as well his experience of knowing how things work backstage, Mike finds himself in emceeing roles for festivals, concerts and conferences around North America as an extra way to serve these ministries. Through years of pastoring and his time doing stand-up comedy, he adds a professional yet entertaining blend into this role.

The Entrepreneur

Most people who see Mike on stage are surprised to discover his ministry background because they just see him as a ‘speaker’. Before Mike went to Bible College, and put his attention on speaking, he studied business and would help many churches and organizations startup or reshape almost 30 ministries over those years. As of  this moment, Mike still sits down with leadership teams and helps them develop ministries and strategies to be effective in this culture – More so for Young Adult and Young Professionals.

The Writer

Mike is regularly published by different magazines and national publications throughout the year.

He currently has a book in the works. He spent a month in L.A working on his book while getting feedback from a New York Times bestselling author to help him transition his communication style while speaking on a stage into words on a page. If all goes to plan, the book shouldn’t suck…. and should be released next year.
