ALL THINGS NEW – PART 4

Bible Verse:  ‘Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.’ Proverbs 16:3, NIV

Scripture Reading: Proverbs 16:1-7

When you take time to process your passions, talents, and motivations, you should now be pointed in some direction for the first time in a while. Looking forward, now you have your part to play to bring these dreams into existence.

Years ago, I was speaking at a concert for an artist who was #1 on the Billboard charts, and afterwards, someone came up to me and said, “You are so lucky to be on that stage.”

Luck? What that person didn’t see was over a decade of committing to my dreams, and all the work I put into setting myself up to be in that position. It didn’t just happen. It was one step at a time, as I kept chasing after the goals I set for myself.

I have met many men who have big dreams but no goals. I have also met men who have big goals but no commitment to follow-through. At this point, as much as I want to tell you that you can just sit on your couch, pray, and God will bring your dreams into existence – I’m not sure if that’s how God works. I do believe he establishes our step, but it’s up to us to actually take them.

What does commitment mean when it comes to our goals?

Commitment means you might have to work harder than anyone in your office or at your school to succeed.

Commitment means you might have to make big sacrifices in order to make these goals a priority.

Commitment means while you might fail over and over, as long as you have that passion, talent and motivation, you keep getting back up and continue moving forward.

Whatever your dreams are, set goals and commit.
